Pirarucu fish – Carved wood piece

The Maloka Baru indigenous people in the Amazon rainforest make decor handicrafts by recycling palo sangre wood, a remarkable fine species of wood with a natural reddish finish. The arapaima or pirarucu fish is the Amazon’s largest freshwater fish, is the king of lakes, and for the Tikuna people elders is a symbol that represent beauty and balance of aquatic ecosystem, thanks to the variety of scales colouration.
